That lacrosse becomes as popular in the inner city as basketball!
The idea of Inner City Lacrosse is to bring collegiate lacrosse players together with inner city kids to teach them lacrosse, mentor them academically, and coach them through adolescence, while collegiate players participate in service learning, teaching, mentoring and being ambassadors for the sport of lacrosse.
Due to the pandemic and out of an abundance of caution, ICL will go virtual this season. What that means is you will still get instructions on how to play the game, improve your skills, learn about fitness, and get academic help. In addition to learning lacrosse you learn about grit, determination, studying hard, not quitting, and finishing what you start, which is our motto.
Mentoring and coaching from collegiate players at Yale University and Trinity College are what distinguishes ICL from other programs. Learning lacrosse is just the means; preparing for college is the goal. Only join if you are committed to finishing. Seven Sundays for an hour is all it requires. Do you have the curiosity, the courage, to learn a sport that isn't played in the inner-city but is one of the fastest-growing sports in higher education?
